Anniversary

1 week from tomorrow we will be on a plane headed north! I'm so freaking excited LOL! We should also have the keys to our house by Wednesday, nothing like cutting it close :-) Work has been so awful lately that I need this vacation somethin' fierce...two weeks of exploring and relaxing? Yes please!

I think I'm most excited for the hubs to see Alaska. I'll admit that we don't necessarily travel well together lol, at least I'm honest, right? But, we know this and we also know that once the travel part of the vacation is over (the flight and getting to the hostel) we'll be just fine and can start enjoying each others company. I attribute it to the fact that he hadn't really traveled all that much when he was younger while my family was all over the place, especially since I was the youngest by 5 years and got to go on a lot of trips once my siblings were out of the house. It's also because my favorite aunt and mom are what we call "the park ladies" meaning they can throw together a trip with their eyes closed and I've been in training since I was 10 LOL....anyways I digress, long and short is that we may try to kill each other getting there, but once we're in the "Last Frontier" we'll enjoy each others company (and hopefully make a baby!)

Once we officially own our new house I'll post some pics, but not before, I'm not about to jinx it!

Relay for Life tomorrow! It's the first one AJ and I have ever done, but I know we'll have a good time. Hopefully I'll remember to take pics and I will try and remember to post them amid the craziness that will be next week (I don't even want to think about what my stress level will be starting Monday!)

Have a great weekend!

On hiatus

I took a break....we've got a full plate! We're in the process of buying a house and we leave in month for our vacation. We're supposed to close on the house a day before we leave...seemed like a good idea at the time LOL When we get back from vacation we'll be working during the day and working on the house at night, not to mention somewhere in there we have to pack and move. Let's also add that one of my co-workers is moving and my employer doesn't think we need to hire anyone right away to replace her b/c I can just do her job on top of my job...um excuse me? I don't remember agreeing to that, I better be getting a raise!

Baby making is not going well. My body doesn't know what the hell it's supposed to do and I don't have the time or energy to argue. That will just have to wait until we're settled into our house. I might start clomid if AF decides to show up on her own, but that's all I feel like doing about it right now.

So that's where we're at. I think I'm 2 1/2 months behind on blog reading...don't think I'll be catching up anytime soon.

Here's a pic of the house we're in escrow (is that the right word? I'm so lost with this stuff, I just sign the papers our realtor and mortgage guy send us lol) with right no. The house definitely needs updates, but I already have big plans for it and it's totally livable while we work on it. I have to admit as much as I like the idea of having a house of our own to do what we want with, I'm feeling just a smidge overwhelmed with all the decorating possibilities!

It would be great....

if I had something exciting to blog about...but alas, I do not :(

Life lately is really just work, work , and more work...last week was a week from hell and although it's only Monday this week is shaping up to be ridiculous also. I'm already ready for the weekend :/

Over the weekend I did get some stuff lined up for our big vaca in June. I wish we had more time in Alaska...two weeks will barely give us enough time to scratch the surface...I guess that just means we have to go back LOL

As far as TTC...we're taking this month off b/c I don't want to risk having morning sickness on vacation. We should be good to go next month with the way my cycles line up I could end up testing in Alaska. I know it's cheesy, but I would love to get a BFP while we're there.

All right, that's all I got...exciting stuff, huh?

Have a great week (or month since I only seem to post once a month lol)!

Quick Update

Almost two months? Really? I'm going to stop saying that I'm going to blog more, because obviously that's not happening and I don't want to be a liar every time I'm on here LOL

So here's where we're at....AF disappeared for 3 months and I had to go to an OB-GYN to get progesterone to jump start my cycle again. I also had some blood work done and because of the levels of a couple hormones she may think I will need help ovulating. She's not 100% convinced since I haven't been off BC that long and that could be screwing up the levels. The plan is for us to try by ourselves this cycle, then we're taking April and May off because we have our Alaska trip in June and I don't want to be newly PG and not feeling good on our vacation. We'll start up again in June (I should ovulate when we're in Alaska) and I'll probably start Clomid at that time. I don't want to waste time trying w/o help if the blood work says I have an issue, it would just seem like wasted time. So...that's where we're at with that :)

Speaking of Alaska...I'm sooooo excited! I haven't been in 9 years and I've missed it. If you've never been, you need to add it to your bucket list. It truly is the last frontier and the scenery is mind blowing. I'm really looking forward to taking pictures.

I wish I had time to take a photography class before then, but I don't know if that's going to happen. Even if not I think I'll still come home with some fantastic pics. My mom and I are thinking about selling some of our pictures (they have the same camera and she's gotten into landscape photography as well) in her shop. She sells veggies and flowers out of a shop at their house and we're thinking of printing some of our pics and putting them in mattes and seeing if anyone is interested. They won't be anything fantastic as we're both very amateur and neither of us has real editing software, but it might be worth a shot. Sometimes I'll get a picture and think....damn that's cool. Of course it's not all the time, but it seems to happen more and more as AJ and I develop our eye for a good shot. What's nice is we have different ideas on what would make a cool picture so we get ones that we wouldn't always get if we were on our own. Plus it's something we can do outdoors together. We're not into portrait photography, we're more drawn to landscape/nature photos. I don't think I could ever have a portrait/wedding/event photography business, too much pressure. With landscape pics I can take pictures of what I want and nobody else has to like them, they're strictly for me. The main problem is finding a place to put the ones I like LOL

Ok, so that wasn't all that quick of an update, I ended up rambling instead :) I'll leave you with a few pictures of Alaska. It's an amazing place and I know I'll be visiting it for many years to come. You could spend your whole life exploring it and still not see all it has to offer...one can always try though ;)

Happy Monday!

Finally!!!

We finally got some snow! It's been driving me nuts that all our fam and friends in the valley were getting snow and we weren't. I got off work early so I took the pups to the park to play in the snow. It was great until the wind kicked up, then it was time to head home :)
Looking at the pictures I took makes me want some editing software LOL

Still here...still trying

I wish I could figure out some time to set aside at least one day a week to blog. If I don't schedule time look what happens.....nothing! As evidenced by no posts in almost a month.

Quick updates...still trying to add to our little family. On CD 35 and no detected ovulation and no AF in sight. BFN on the test I took today (I knew if there was any house I wouldn't be able to resist testing LOL). I guess it's just wait an see. General rule is something if you reach CD 60 w/ no AF and no positive test then see your doc. Unfortunately I'm not patient by nature...guess I'll have to learn!

We had a great time over the holidays. Saw lots of family and friends...it made me miss living closer to everyone. I'm feeling pretty bummed that our kids won't have family close by and now our friends are having kids and I would love to be able to do this parenting thing with them and have out kids grow up together. I'm excited to see what 2012 has in store for us though.

That's all I got..I'll leave you some pics b/c a post is always better with pictures :)

Where we went hunting in October

Imnaha River

I was so tan! That was taken a year ago 1/11/11 in
Maui...wish we were back there now. It was 15 here
this morning. Wouldn't be so bad if there was snow
involved...maybe next week :)

More hours...

Ever wish there was more hours in a day? I feel like there's never enough time to fit it all in. Working 40+ hours a week with a 45 min commute (yes, I know a lot of people drive much further) doesn't help. My job is stressful and I'm so unhappy there. The hubs and I talked, I'll keep looking for a new job and try to make it at my current job until after the new year, but after that I'll either quit or cut my hours. I just can't do it anymore. It's stressful enough that it's starting to affect me physically, headaches, high blood pressure, I'm not sleeping well, and none of that is helpful in the baby department.

Speaking of baby department, we're on to cycle 2 of trying. I was a little bummed when AF showed up, but not much. We had a lot of fun trying ;) and I might have felt a little cheated if we only got to try one month LOL.

In other news...I'm finally excited for Christmas!! Every year all the shopping overwhelms me and I can never really enjoy the Christmas season until it's done. It's not even really the shopping, it's more trying to figure out what to get everyone. But, this last Saturday the hubs and I went on a marathon shopping spree and seven hours later we are done! Well, I am, he says he still has shopping for me to do :) He's hopefully taking this Friday off and he'll do his shopping in the morning and we'll get to leave nice and early for our long holiday weekend with our families.

Since I can't seem to keep up this blog I doubt I'll get back here until after the holidays. I hope you all have a very and Merry Christmas (if that's your thing) and an insanely happy New Year! Hopefully 2012 will bring us the next chapter in our lives :)

Score one for my body!

First cycle off birth control and my body may have actually remembered what to do...go figure :)

I've been temping and using FF, and according to that I ovulated (O'd) last Saturday. That means I'm 5 days past ovulation (DPO), I could test as early the 6th, but I'm going to wait until the 11th or 12th if AF doesn't show up before then. Thankfully I haven't caved and bought any tests yet, otherwise I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to wait LOL

For the record I never thought I'd be sharing this info w/ the interwebs, I'm hoping that I never end up having to regret keep the blog public and using real names and places. We'll find out won't we? Any other bloggers ever worry about your blogs being public (I guess that question only applies if you post personal info).

What I would like to do is when we eventually have kids is to share the blog w/ family and friends since we don't live close to them. It would be a way for them to keep up w/ what's happening on the other side of the mountains. But, I don't necessarily want them to be able to read the older posts. Is there a way to block older posts? I really don't want to make a new blog, that would be a hassle and I don't want to forget this blog I've been using it for over two years now and it has sentimental value (if that's possible w/ a blog).

Wow...this post took off in a totally different direction that I originally planned. Talk about ADD sheesh!

One last thought...I'm getting acupuncture for the first time tomorrow. I'm nervous, I hate needles, but I'm willing to suck it up if it helps my back pain and headaches. That's the end of the random thoughts...I apologize for the ridiculousness of this post

Fail

So much for posting more now that we're TTC!

Speaking of, nothing exciting going on there. Just waiting....and waiting ;)

We're supposed to get some snow over here. I'm not excited about driving in it, but I'm still anxiously awaiting it's arrival. I love it and hopefully it's enough to give everything that pretty dusting that makes you feel like a kid again...you know the snow that would make it feel like Christmas was just around the corner (which it is btw and I'm so not ready!). Not that I would really know what that felt like, because in the Pacific NW (the part I grew up in) you pretty much never get snow before Christmas...unless it was that one year where it looked like this

That happened days before Christmas and the entire Portland Metro area was shut down for about a week....because there, nobody knows how to handle snow and we all just freak out and watch 24/7 new coverage of "Arctic Blast '08" (I shit you not, that's what the storm was referred to as) My FIL (who works for an electric company and was working 18-20hrs a day then) has a shirt that says something like "I survived Arctic Blast '08" we're ridiculous up here. But, I love it and it's who we are. 1" snow=snow day and city shut down...how cool is that?

Now here in Bend, I don't think they roll that way. It's always cold in the winter, but snow varies a ton. It's more common here though so we'll see what happens. Maybe one day I'll watch the people freaking out in Portland and laugh because I'll have become a snow pro...lol

If I don't make it back before next Thursday: Have a very happy Thanksgiving! We're having pulled pork :)

CD (cycle day) 2

Now we can get this show on the road...well in a few days anyway :)
